Administration in Talks with Oregon Governor

President Trump is committed to the protection of federal property and personnel.

Vice President Mike Pence reported that the president’s administration is holding talks with Oregon Governor Kate Brown about containing ongoing protests in Portland. Federal agents have clashed with demonstrators there, and President Trump said Wednesday that the agents would not be pulled out until the city was secured.

The vice president said, “The violence in Portland has got to stop. It is clear that the local leadership and the mayor of Portland are not willing to step up. That’s why we’re talking to Governor Kate Brown and the state of Oregon about working a way forward.”

President Trump’s Administration is committed to protecting the federal courthouse in the downtown area and federal officials would get the protection they need, Vice President Pence said.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For individuals from the Trump Administration and Governor Kate Brown and her staff as they work toward a resolution of the riots in Portland.
  • For the safety of the federal agents, some of whom have already suffered serious injury, as they stand watch over the federal buildings in the city.
  • That peace would return to cities across the nation.
